
Overall Goal
The Project aims to advance gender transformative localization of humanitarian program cycle, including its data-informed planning processes and funding structures at regional and country levels.
Objective 1
To enhance comprehensive, protection-enabling supports to women, girls and womanitarians.
Focus
Support women, girls and womanitarians in all their diversity to meet their needs in times of crisis, recover from crisis and build resilience, and strengthen countries’ abilities to rebuild better and equally.
Objective 2
To strengthen accountability towards gender commitments in coordination and implementation of international organization’s humanitarian action, as well as refugee/IDP response plan.
Focus
Integrate gender throughout humanitarian programme cycles and enhance support for humanitarian actors to effectively address and respond to the inter-sectional needs of women, girls and structurally marginalized populations

Strategic Results
Strengthened comprehensive protection and livelihood support to crisis affected and displaced women and girls through the implementation of leadership, empowerment and access-to-service interventions for humanitarian coordination and response. Crisis affected women, including refugees, returnees and internally displaced persons, have improved resilience, self-reliance and leadership in humanitarian action. Increased accountability towards the implementation of gender commitments in the context of humanitarian action and refugee/IDP responses by local and country-based partners, spanning sudden onset and protracted crises.

Amplifying women´s voices and leadership in crisis response and recovery Focus: Civil society and local feminist organizations and networks play a vital role in achieving appropriate and sustainable crisis response. prioritizing women and girls’ needs and rights within their humanitarian strategies.
Alignment With UN Women's Strategy
The Project is inspired by, and aligns with UN Women’s Humanitarian Strategy and mandate to provide normative support and system coordination for Gender in Humanitarian Action. It also takes advantage of AfricaForHER’s connection with UN Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls (GEEWG) across HDP nexus.
